Tom
Taylor
(b. October 15,
1987)
is an American electronic gaming (video
game) professional.
Tom Taylor signed a
quarter million dollar contract with Major
League Gaming (MLG) in June of 2004 at the
age of 17, and currently earns between
$120,000 and $150,000 per year in gaming
prize money. Major League Gaming is a
professional gaming league which tours
across the United States. Taylor also runs
a business called Gaming Lessons, which he
started in September of 2005. Taylor
tutors Gaming Lesson clients to help them
achieve a higher level of success at
electronic gaming.
Taylor, who can be
described as a "cyber-athlete," like many
professional athletes and competitors,
must practice his game, often playing
games for up to 12 hours a day as
preparation for professional competitions.
He also takes care of his physical being
through an exercise regime and good diet
to keep a mental and physical edge.
He is the team leader
of Str8 Rippin, with MLG, and of course,
he is one of the league's top-ranked
players.
TSquared was featured
on MTV's documentary series True Life:
I'm a Professional Gamer, and The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He also
appeared as part of Stuff magazine's list
of 20 most influential people under the
age of 30 in August 2006.
Born in Syracuse, New
York, Taylor currently lives in Jupiter,
Florida. He is a professional-level player
of the popular game Halo 2, but he plays
Halo 1, Area 51, NBA Live, Madden, Mortal
Kombat, and Guitar Hero.
